The 1×12 Twilighter from Magnatone Amps is an absolutely incredible sounding tube guitar amplifier! Pure electronic Americana that oozes classic tone. These newly improved Magnatone amplifiers are a tribute to their vintage Magnatone ancestors. All that classic tone is here- Including the highly revered Vibrato – along with a modern power section and pre-amp package. The classic American clean sound of the Magnatone Twilighter is powered by a GZ34 rectifier and a pair of 6V6 power tubes for a conservatively rated 22 watts.

While the terms Vibrato and tremolo have been used interchangeably over the years, they are actually two distinct effects. Tremolo is bascially modulating the volume up and down in a cyclical manner while Vibrato is the pitch change of the signal or bending the note up and down. As a musician applies vibrato to their instrument they are changing the pitch, not the amplitude. While many other amp companies were including tremolo with their amps, often times mislabeling it as vibrato, Magnatone was actually one of the very first companies to produce a true pitch-shifting vibrato effect and the classic tone of that famous Magnatone Vibrato is revered as the absolute best there is

The tone of the Vibrato is so rich and 3 dimensional that is almost makes you dizzy. You can even switch between Pitch Shifting Vibrato and normal Tremolo vian the FM/AM switch. A footswitch allows you to turn it on or off, as well as the built-in, tube driven, long spring Reverb. You can also control the Vibrato Speed with an optional Expression Pedal. This amp has plenty of headroom but takes pedals phenomenally well. It has been a long time since I have been so thoroughly impressed by an amp that has come through this shop. It’s on our MUST HAVE list. And right at the top!
