The Rice Osprey model guitars are built around the idea that the ultimate electric guitar should respond in a similar fashion to a great acoustic instrument. All switched sounds should be an extension of the instrument’s primary voice, and the most subtle intentions of the player should translate to differing tones. The voice can be shaped through wood selection and internal design, and every change will be heard through the Slug Bucker pickups.

The Osprey Deluxe is the perfect guitar to cover any gig. It has two internal chambers or “lungs”, as Rice refers to them, with a solid center section for tone transfer and an f-hole. This opens up the tone while lightening the load. The Osprey Deluxe features Hipshot hardware, a selection of great sounding tone woods, and the addition of a split switch for true single coil tones.

Slug ‘Bucker Pickups – Hand Wound for great tone!

The RCG Slug ‘Bucker pickups are hand wound by the folks at Rice Guitars and bridge the gap between PAF style humbuckers and traditional Fender-style single coil pickups. Unlike a traditional humbucker that uses non-magnetized screw and/or slug pole pieces with a magnet underneath coils, the Slug ‘Bucker is essentially two single coil bobbins side by side with AlNiCo III magnetic “slug” pole pieces. This provides classic humbucker tones with more clarity and sparkle coupled with a truly authentic single coil tone when split.
