The Royal Reverb is Supro Amps’ Flagship Combo – Monster Vintage Tone!
The 1650RT Royal Reverb is the flagship amp from Supro! This 2×10 combo is an all tube guitar amplifier oozing with tonal goodness. Its 3-way selectable power settings provide ample headroom for any gig. Independent treble and bass controls along with tube-driven tremolo and spring reverb provide additional tone shaping versatility. Of course that trademark Blue Rhino Hide tolex and tops off the Supro 1650RT for loads of vintage vibe and classic tone!
6L6 power section with 3-way wattage / rectifier switch
The tone emanating from the Supro Royal Reverb amp is both awe-inspiring and versatile, thanks to a 3-way rectifier switch that selects between spongy tube character, faster responding silicone transistors and a range of headroom. With the 1650RT you can choose between 35-watt (cathode-biased) and 45-watt (grid-biased) 5U4 tube rectifier modes, as well as a higher power 60-watt (grid-biased) solid state rectifier setting. The result is a wonderful sounding tube guitar amplifier perfect for any gig.
Built-in Reverb and Tremolo! Custom Speakers!
When it comes to ambience, nothing delivers the classic depth and dimension to your sound like a true, tube driven spring reverb. That’s why Supro installed it on the 1650RT 2×10 combo. Of course nothing compliments pure tube reverb like a great sounding power tube tremolo circuit for an extra dose of warmth and wobble.
But how do you bring that classic tone to life? You team up with America’s premier speaker manufacturer, Eminence, to develop a series of custom speakers speakers! Supro Amps did just that and the 1650RT Royal Reverb comes loaded with a pair of CR10 speakers for a very “Jensen-esque” tone with superb volume and exceptionally tight low end.

Supro’s roots can be traced back to the Valco company which manufactured amps and guitars under a variety of brand names, including Airline, Oahu, National, Gretsch, Harmony, and Kay. It was during this time that Valco also began producing guitars and amplifiers under the Supro name. Extremely popular amongst Southside Chicago blues musicians in the 1960’s, Supro amplifiers proved equally popular with the British musicians who were influenced by them. By the late 1960’s, notable guitarists from Jimi Hendrix to Albert Lee to Jimmy Page could be seen playing their Supro amplifiers. Nowadays, original Supro amps are highly sought after and often sell for premium prices on the used market because of their legendary and unique tone.
