Like all our used / vintage gear this amp has been tested for functionality and priced to move. It’s in immaculate condition and sounds fantastic. What you see is what you get. Sold as-is.
The Super 17 is a lightweight 1 x 12 combo with all the goodies: Reverb, Trem, and Selectable Output Power. Richard Goodsell designed the Super Seventeen as an EL84-based, 17 watt tube guitar amplifier with astonishing tone and playability. It’s transformers and topology are inspired by vintage Hammond designs from the 50s and 60s. Tonally, this amp can be described as Chicago meets Liverpool and takes a gig in Nashville. Great for Chicago Blues – Beatle-esque British rock or Chicken Pickin’ Twang.
Like the vintage Hammond B3 power amps this amp was inspired by, the Goodsell Super 17 amplifiers enjoy a tone and a harmonic richness found only in old-school assembly techniques and vintage iron. Each point-to-point hand-wired amp benefits from a total lack of innovation; no pretense, no extra useless knobs to compensate for one-dimensional tone – just a magical simplicity of execution to achieve an amazingly diverse palette of musically useful sounds.
