Vintage 1965 / 1966 Gibson SG Standard
Refin! Great Tone!
Used! Just in on consignment!
Just in on consignment! This Vintage Gibson SG Standard has been refinished but it is pretty much all original otherwise. The serial number is visible on the back of the headstock but it is very faint and difficult to read. Based on the 1-9/16″ nut width, Double Ring tuners, Patent Number Sticker pickups (same as PAFs) and small, early-style pickguard, it is reasonable to assume this guitar was built between late 1965 and late 1966. It sounds great! Super light, loud and resonant acoustically. Plugged in it has all the classic, vintage Gibson electric guitar character you would expect from a pair killer PAF Humbucker pickups. The headstock has a couple of repaired cracks. They are solid but you can see and feel where they were glued. Frets are low but dressed. A later Gibson hard case is included (I think it’s called the “protector” or “chainsaw” case). Trem bar is not installed on the guitar but is in the case.
Like all our used / vintage gear this has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is.
