The Dr Z Brake Lite is a compact attenuator that mounts easily and discreetly inside most combo amps. Perfect for taming any tube guitar amplifier up to 45 watts. LIke many guitarists, you have probably heard those dreaded words – “Turn it down!” – only to find that your tone just isn’t the same. That’s because your amp needs to operate at it’s sweet spot in order to produce the best tone. Unfortunately, many times your amps’ sweet spot is a lot louder than the sweet spot for your gig, rehearsal or recording. That’s where the Brake Lite Attenuator from Dr Z amps comes in. Like it’s big brother, the Dr Z Airbrake, there is no sacrifice in tone. The Z Brake-Lite is the perfect accessory for dialing in the tonal sweet spot of a loud tube guitar amplifier while dialing back the volume level. The Brake Lite works with any tube amp up to 45 watts and can be used with 4, 8, or 16, ohm loads.

The Z Brake Lite is easy to install!

The Z Brake Lite mounts quickly and easily inside the back of any guitar combo amplifier. 2 screws and/or some included sticky tape is all it takes. Then just take the hardwired speaker cable and plug it into the speaker out on the amp chassis. Plug the speaker directly into the Brake Lite and you are ready to go.

Please note: the Brake Lite is NOT a stand alone unit and needs to be mounted inside the back of a guitar combo amplifier for proper operation! If you are looking for a unit that you can use with a head or other amps then we recommend the Dr Z Brake-Lite SA or Dr Z Airbrake.
