Dr Z has always said that his next design will be the best. Well, the Z-LUX is that design! With 20 / 40 watt selectable power, Reverb and Tremolo, the Z-LUX is an all tube guitar combo amplifier that absolutely delivers the big, warm vintage tone of a true hand-wired tube amp. It’s a design that not only integrates favorite features from the entire Dr Z Amps line, but also includes new ones of its own. Half/Full power switch, Footswitch Adjustable Boost, Master Volume, Reverb and Tremolo, plus a new lightweight cabinet, you name it…this amp has it. Every component was painstakingly selected to achieve the highest quality for both sound and durability.

The Z-LUX starts with the front end of a MAZ and uses a combination of hand-rolled Jupiter caps, Mallory 150s and classic orange drop caps specifically selected for each stage. The foot-switchable EQ bypass boost has also been retained (not adjustable) and softened it a bit for smoother overdrive. The power section is driven by a quartet of 6V6 power tubes switchable between 20 watts (2 tubes) or 40 watts (4 tubes) via the half-power switch (similar the DR Z Remedy). Tube driven Tremolo provides deep, pulsating swells of rich tone you can’t get from any pedal and when combined with the lush tube driven spring Reverb… you won’t be able to put the guitar down. The sound of this amp will push your creativity to the max!

Dr Z also completely re-designed the build and construction of their combo cabinet to achieve stunning full-bodied tone in a sturdy, yet ultra-light amplifier weighing in at only 42 lbs! They also teamed up with Eminence to design a new 12” speaker specifically for the Z-LUX. The new Z-12 is an American-voiced 50 watt speaker designed to complement the vibrant tones of Dr Z amps. Designing a cab and a speaker at the same time allowed Dr Z to have complete control over the quality of every component – Truly achieving classic vintage tone for today’s discerning connoisseur.
