Inspired by original vintage 1960 Teles
Upgraded with Modern Player features
Increased Tonal Versatility and Playability!
The Fender Classic Player Baja ’60s Telecaster was originally designed and conceived in the Fender Custom Shop by Master Builder Chris Fleming. This player friendly take on a vintage 1960 Tele has a vintage vibe with upgraded features for increased playability and tonal versatility. This Baja Telecaster design includes “greatest hits” specs from a variety of different 50’s and 60’s Telecaster models – Modern and Vintage – and includes an Alder body, Rosewood fingerboard, a comfortable ’60s “C”-shaped neck profile and American Vintage pickups. Other great features available on the Classic Player Baja 60s Tele model include special switching and circuitry, engraved Fender Custom Shop neck plate, an American Vintage strings-thru-body Telecaster bridge and more. Read on for details…
Vintage-style Bridge and Hardware – Strings through body construction
Original vintage Fender Tele bridges were outfitted with three brass saddles and most connoisseurs of these vintage Telecasters feel that the brass saddles were a significant contributing factor to that unmistakable Tele twang. This Fender Classic Player Baja ’60s Telecaster solidbody electric guitar is equipped with a vintage-style 3-saddle bridge for classic Tele tone and string-through-body construction for excellent sustain. It also sports a set of vintage-style split shaft tuners for a classic look and protection from sharp string ends that can stab you in the finger.
American Vintage single-coil pickups and versatile wiring for Tone, Tone and more Tone!
A unique combination of American Vintage Tele single-coil pickups has been chosen for the Fender Classic Player Baja ’60s Telecaster. ’58 and ’52 American Vintage single-coil pickups provide a sweet warm tone with just enough edge for that signature Tele twang. Additionally, this solidbody electric guitar is wired with a special 4-position blade switch and a 2-position S-1 switch. The custom configuration allows for tonal options ranging from classic vintage Tele, to useful hot-rodded series and parallel out-of-phase tones, plus special fat tones and high-output settings. From classic to modern, this Tele’s got a tone for you!
Continuing with the “greatest hits” theme of features to compliment tone and versatility, the Fender Classic Player Baja ’60s Telecaster uses and Alder body with a Maple Neck and Rosewood fingerboard for a rich, balanced tone with plenty of Twang and Spank without any of the harsh, Squawky qualities sometimes found with 50’s features and an Ash/Maple body/neck combination. The guitar also comes standard with a 60’s “C” shaped neck profile, Medium Jumbo frets and a 9.5” radius for excellent comfort and playability. All around this is a fantastic sounding and playing Tele with a thoughtful set of features that could make it the perfect desert island guitar – or at least the best desert island Telecaster!
