The Vintage Fender Strat- REDEFINED! This 60 Stratocaster HSS Super Relic was is part of the Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series (MVP), built exclusively for Make’n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player’s piece.

This particular guitar is Masterbuilt by Jason Smith and built to modified early 60s Strat specs with a hand-distressed, Relic finish package designed to replicate the comfortable feel achieved from decades of road worn wear and tear! The HSS pickup configuration offers a wider range of tonal options thanks to newly updated wiring including a Dual 250k/500k Volume Pot for exceptional balance between the two single coils and the humbucker. The neck and middle pickups are 1960 Strat single coils. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan JB – which we chose specifically because of the way it plays nice with the other pickups when split, as well as it’s honky, rocking mid-range bite and sweet harmonic overtones in humbucking mode. Coil Splitting is achieved via the Push/Push pot on the second tone control. Of course all the standard Stratocaster sounds you know and love are there as well, right where they should be.

The Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, but they play like a dream. The neck is carved from a beautifully figured piece of AAAA Roasted / Flamed Maple and the profile is an ultra-comfy, custom spec’d Mid 60’s Oval C with extra rolled edges. At .825″ – .945″ it’s a perfectly shaped to fit in any size hands. Easier chording, faster leads and no fretting out thanks to the 1&11/16″ nut width, flatter 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too as the Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak.
