The Vintage Fender Tele- REDEFINED! This Masterbuilt 52 Telecaster Super Relic is part of the Master Vintage Players Series (MVP) Limited Edition run, made exclusively for Make’n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!!

The Master Vintage Player Series represents a unique and exciting project with Make’n Music and the Fender Custom Shop. These instruments were developed and conceived by Teddy Gordon of Make’n Music and Fender Masterbuilder John Cruz. Each guitar is comprised of carefully thought out specifications and features, which are designed to incorporate the ultimate in tone and playability while maintaining an undeniably vintage vibe and feel.

Each of these fine instruments feature premium woods hand-selected for tone and weight, special electronics with carefully chosen, hand wound pickups, a 9.5″ fingerboard radius, as well as additional hardware and finish upgrades for increased functionality and playability.

The Nitrocellulose Lacquer finish is hand-distressed with a Heavy Relic finish package that replicates decades of road worn wear and tear! Based on the Vintage 1951 Nocaster / 1952 Telecaster, but built with modified early 50s Blackguard Tele specs, it was also special ordered with some killer custom upgrades- including handwounds pickups – A Broacaster Flat Pole in the bridge position for snarling midrange beefy and a Twisted Tele in the neck position for clear, sparkling, almost Strat-like tone. The neck is hand carved from perfectly Quartersawn Maple with an ultra-comfy custom soft “V” profile (.850″ – .950″), nut width is 1 &11/16″, and the truss rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. How convenient is that? It’s also equipped with “Gatton” bridge saddles for improved intonation.

This particular guitar also happens to be one of our new “Featherweight” models Masterbuilt for us by Greg Fessler. It features a very special body with woods hand-selected for extreme lightweight and resonance. The tone is open and airy with incredible definition. Every frequency can be heard clearly. The lows are tight and focused. The midrage is clear and the highs sweet and sparkley. Never harsh or squawky. Exactly like you would imagine an incredible vintage Tele to sound!
