The Friedman 1×12 Closed Back extension cabinet utilizes tongue and groove, Baltic Birch construction to deliver the bass, mid response and an overall killer tone you expect in a compact and lightweight package. The heart of this 1×12 Closed Back guitar speaker cabinet from Friedman Amps is a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback speaker. The “Creamback” is essentially a Celestion Greenback rated for 65 watts instead of 25 watts. The Greenback is perhaps the definitive vintage Celestion ceramic magnet guitar speaker. Developed in the mid-sixties and quickly adopted by players like Hendrix, Beck and Page, it typified the louder and more aggressive blues-rock playing styles that came to characterize that era. The higher power handling and 16 Ohm rating of this cabinet produces a familiar woody tone, making it ideally suited for both vintage and modern tones. The increased power handling brings with it a low end grunt that complements the warm, vocal mid-range, crunchy upper mids and sweet, refined high end. As with all Friedman cabinets, oversized 12-gauge speaker wire is soldered between the speaker and terminal, assuring every ounce of valuable tone is captured. This compact monster not only excels in the studio, but is ideally suited for stereo or wet/dry/wet rig situations.
