Celestion G12V-70 speaker
The ’68 Custom Deluxe Reverb from Fender Amps is a 22 watt, all tube guitar combo amplifier with 1x 12” Celestion G12V-70 speaker! This is a new take on another classic Fender amp- The Blackface 65 Deluxe Reissue. Since the ’68 Custom version has been upgraded with some modifications to the original vintage circuit, it complements the 1965 Blackface version nicely and has rightfully earned is “Custom” designation and a place in the Vintage Modified Series of Fender Amplifiers.
1968 was a transitional year for Fender amps. Their tone was still pure, classic Fender, but with a silver-and-turquoise front panel and classy aluminum “drip edge” grille cloth trim, the Deluxe Reverb received a fresh new look. It remains a perfect choice for recording and gigging – Small, light and moderately powered – All while retaining a big tube tone, with world-class Fender reverb and vibrato effects. For countless guitarists ever since, the Deluxe Reverb has been a go-to amp for classic Fender sound.
The ’68 Custom Deluxe Reverb Amp pays tribute to the classic look and sound of Fender’s late-’60s “Silverface” amps, but a modified tone circuit makes the ’68 Custom a more versatile and flexible choice for today’s modern player. Both channels boast reverb and tremolo, and the “custom” channel has a modified Bassman tone stack that gives modern players greater tonal flexibility. It also takes pedals extremely well and has reduced negative feedback for improved touch sensitivity and more overdrive. The ’68 Custom Deluxe Reverb is also fitted with a single 12” Celestion G12V-70 speaker also delivers a more distinctively rock ‘n’ roll flavor.
Unique features of the ’68 Custom Deluxe Reverb amplifier- Modified Deluxe Reverb circuit with all-tube circuitry, hand-wired tube sockets, custom-made Schumacher transformers (like the originals), genuine Fender tube-driven spring reverb, genuine Fender tube-driven tremolo (“vibrato”), 1968-style Silverface aluminum trim around silver-turquoise grille cloth.
