Fender Custom Shop LTD 1967 Stratocaster Heavy Relic
Limited Edition Electric Guitar!
Hand Wound Pickups and a Neck to Die for!
Another most excellent build from the Fender Custom Shop! This Limited Edition ’67 Strat is built with an Alder body which has been sorted for weight and finished in a heavily distressed, Aged Black (nitro lacquer of course). The aging package is Heavy Relic.
The neck is Rift Sawn Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard that has been sorted for Dark wood. It has been carved to a killer “66 Oval C” profile with comfortable but substantial dimensions (.850″ – .910” – think ’69 small U but with slightly softer shoulders) and includes other premium features like a 9.5” radius and 21 x 6105 frets.
The pickups are a Hand Wound setup comprised of one of my favorite combinations – Custom ’69 in the neck, Fat 50’s in the middle, and a Texas Special in the bridge position. These are wired up with always dependable Vintage Modified #2 setup.
Overall Takeaways – It plays great, sounds great and feels great! So as I said, “lots of greatness”.
