The Vintage Fender Strat- REDEFINED! This 64 Stratocaster Relic is part of the Dealer Select Master Vintage Player Series (MVP), built exclusively for Make’n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player’s piece.

 

This particular guitar is a 1-off built to modified early ’64 Strat specs with a Korina body! Yes, they did actually make a few Korina bodied Strats and Teles in 1964, so now you know. It comes with a hand-distressed, Relic finish package designed to replicate the comfortable feel achieved from decades of road worn wear and tear! The HSS pickup configuration offers a wide range of tonal options thanks to newly updated wiring featuring a Dual 250k/500k Volume Pot for exceptional balance between the two single coils and the humbucker. The neck and middle pickups are a pair of fantastic sounding, Custom Shop Hand Wound 64s. The bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan JB – which we chose specifically because of the way it plays nice with the other pickups when split, as well as it’s honky, rocking mid-range bite and sweet harmonic overtones in humbucking mode. Coil Splitting is achieved via the Push/Push pot on the second tone control. Of course all the standard Stratocaster sounds you know and love are there as well, right where they should be.

The Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, but they play like a dream. The neck profile is an ultra-comfy, custom spec’d Mid 60’s Oval C with extra rolled edges. At .825″ – .945″ it’s a perfectly shaped to fit in any size hands. Easier chording, faster leads and no fretting out thanks to the 1&11/16″ nut width, flatter 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too as the Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. This neck also features a nice Dark Rosewood fingerboard with Pearl Dot inlays just like they were using in 1964.
