This 69 Stratocaster NOS is part of the Master Vintage Players Series (MVP) Limited Edition run, Masterbuilt by John Cruz, exclusively for Make’n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player’s piece. This particular guitar is built to modified 69 Strat specs for a classic Maple Cap / Hendrix / Woodstock Strat vibe with the increased playability and tonal versatility that the MVP Series is known for. It has a very special, New Old Stock (NOS) finish package to provide the ultimate tone and feel. The thin, hard, nitrocellulose lacquer on the body that is buffed out to a high gloss for an elegant look, along with a gunstock oil finish on the back of the neck for the natural feel of bare wood. The headstock face is also nitro lacquer – just like the vintage 1969 Strats.

The Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, but they play like a dream. Easier chording, faster leads and no fretting out when you go for the big bends thanks to a 1&11/16″ nut width, flatter 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Bullet Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. The neck uses a vintage-style 4-bolt pocket for the best tone and stability. Another nifty feature is the push button switch hidden discretely in the center of the volume knob. When activated this puts the neck / bridge pickup combination at your fingertips for all those Jimmy Page / Ritchie Blackmore type tones. Even a bit of Tele flavor! Of course all the classic Stratocaster sounds you know and love are still there too. Right where they should be.
