From classic Plexi “bark” to Brown sounding British overdrive, the Small Box 50 head from Friedman Amps is an all tube guitar amplifier that is loaded with incredible tone! It was designed from the ground up specifically for guitarists that want the classic tones reminiscent of great vintage Plexi Marshalls as well as Friedman’s more modern high gain offerings. Two foot-switchable channels each have their own separate Gain and Volume controls. Channel 1 has a more classic British Plexi voice with plenty of crunch and growl. The second channel expands on that with the signature Friedman high-gain distortion we all know and love. The Small Box 50 head is dynamic and responsive- No matter where you have the controls set, it cleans up remarkably well when you back off the guitar volume control. This is a lot of amp in a 50-watt package.
