We are each celebrating 50 years in the industry, and happy to be working together to bring you some of the most incredible custom, boutique, electric guitars on the market. James Tyler guitars are well known for their unparalleled feel and tone. James’ keen insight into how things work, and what players want is the main reason Tyler Guitars are coveted by top session players and performing artists worldwide. This particular guitar is an absolutely BITCHIN new Studio Elite HD Century – A new model, and like all Tyler guitars, it’s a killer!

What’s the deal with the Studio Elite Century? Well that’s a good question, and I am going to tell you – The first James Tyler Studio Elite to ship to a dealer was sent to Make’n Music, way back in 1991. Fast forward to the 2023 NAMM Show, where both Make’n Music and James Tyler Guitars were honored with the prestigious NAMM Milestone award, which celebrates 50 years of contribution to the industry. This remarkable feat translates to a century’s worth of combined expertise.

In light of this achievement, we are thrilled to announce our partnership to create the Studio Elite Century guitar. This throwback instrument represents an updated take on that first dealer guitar and boasts Lead/Rhythym functionality, the active Midboost feature, and introduces the groundbreaking HCS-JTS5500 single coils with hum-cancelling capabilities. Cosmetically it sports the same Midnight Finish, Pearl Pickguard, and Pearl Button tuners, which replicate the look of the original vintage (yes Vintage!) James Tyler Studio Elite.

The Studio Elite HD is a full custom boutique electric guitar which embodies the essence of the Hot-Rodded California Super Strat. A true player’s guitar, it has a contoured neck heel with a deeper cutaway on the treble side for easier access to the upper frets. The electronics always offer an incredible range of tonal versatility. And that neck- The Tyler Guitar’s neck has a feel to die for. Not once have I ever had someone pick up a Studio Elite and say it wasn’t the most comfortable guitar they have ever played – No matter how much they disliked the headstock!

While Tyler guitars are built using state-of-the-art technology including computerized milling machines, laser machines, 3D modeling stations, and aerospace engineering to ensure the utmost quality and precision, James draws the line to make sure that it never takes precedence over “the human factor.” Technology remains a tool in the hands of expert luthiers, and never a human replacement. This determined balance of modern technology and old school tradition ensures every James Tyler guitar feels like an old friend when you play it for the first time. Pure joy! No other custom electric guitar is as comfortable to play!
