The Super 59 MKII combo from Magnatone Amps is a 45 watt, EL-34 powered tube guitar amplifier. Plenty of muscle and headroom, along with trademark Magnatone Vibrato and Tremolo make this one mean beast! Think Robin Trower vs. Billy Gibbons mudwrestling tag team style with Buckcherry and you’ll have an idea what this baby is all about.
The Magnatone Super Fifty-Nine MKII 1×12 combo is the modern incarnation of the classic Magnatone. It’s classic, yet contemporary look is cosmetically striking with black levant tolex and white satin grill cloth, edged by piping. Sleek and luxurious, the Super Fifty-Nine oozes style and fashion. A pair of EL34’s and a solid state rectifier provide a solid foundation for the rock and roll tone this machine is all about. Developed in conjunction with Billy F Gibbons, the Super 59 all about killer tone and with two independent channels, a Master Volume and rich, succulent Vibrato, it’s easy to find the perfect voice and mood for any gig.
The “Classic” channel is simple and concise with Volume and Tone controls. It’s tone is punchy with a focused midrange reminiscent of a killer VOX AC30. The “Modern” channel sports Gain, Master Volume, and the classic 3 band EQ to achieve rich, throaty and singing rock and roll tones from the 70s and 80s, yet equally at home with the most contemporary music as well. An effects loop is included on this channel to allow modern or vintage effects to be used. A global Presence control adjusts the sparkle and bandwidth of the power amp for both channels.
On the Super Fifty-Nine MKII combo, the classic Magnatone dual stage pitch shifting vibrato is employed on both channels. It pulsates and throbs with a dizzying whirl – Adding richness and life to a raw amp sound. The Vibrato is also switchable to a more conventional Tremolo effect. A remote pedal option allows any expression pedal to control the speed of the effect for some real time creative adjustments.
