Luthier Alejandro Ramirez has been hand-crafting his line of o3 Custom Guitars and Basses since 2005. This particular model is the Radon with a stunning “Purple Nightmare” finish. The Radon model is the newest addition to o3 Guitars model lineup. The top on this one sports intensely figured Poplar Burl, very difficult to work with but definitely worth the results. The body back is Swamp Ash body and the neck is constructed from 7 pieces of Maple, Padauk and Wenge with a beautiful Birdseye Maple fretboard. Sonically, this guitar is geared towards the hard rock and metal end of the spectrum. A pair of Harry Haussel “Hot” humbuckers are not in and of themselves very high gain pickups, but they have enough power to drive any amp while maintaining the “o3 tone” – Big but with Definition and Control. The neck is very easy to play and feels great with very low action. Zero fret construction is utilized here again for a balanced tone and the 640 mm scale length (about 25.2”) adds note definition.
