*** Let me pre-preface this description by saying that this is the second time we have had this model guitar in with almost the same build specs. Now let me preface the rest of this description by saying the bar for quality instruments has been raised so high by the folks at Suhr Guitars that we are no longer easily impressed when they ship us another amazing instrument. It may be hard to imagine that you could be somewhat numbed by all the incredible guitars coming through the door, but when each one is that awesome, it happens. Anyway- this particular guitar is so over the top FANTASIC sounding that we were all FLOORED. And that says a lot. What says it most though- was that it happened twice! This guitar is OUTSTANDING!

John Suhr sure knows how to build a stunning guitar! When we originally ordered this Classic T we were thinkink about a hard and heavy rock machine. However, once we spend some time playing it we were stunned about how versatile and phenominal soundind it is at just about any style of music you throw at it! Tone ranging from hard rock and metal are obviously not a problem. But the subtle nuances of a Gibson 335 can conjured on some jazz and fusion style riffs, as well as some spanky, single coil country and blues tones as well, thanks to the great pickups and verstaile electronics setup.

The solid Pau Ferro neck and Alder body with strings through construction add a lot to the solid feel and tone of this guitar. Clear and crisp with blooming notes. Not harsh or spikey- just well rounded. The Suhr JST SSV and SSH+ humbuckers are wired to a 5-way switch and there is a push/pull on the tone control to split both pickups.The black hardware and blackout look, combined the Abalone dots and logo, gloss headstock and Montego Black Metallic finish of this guitar give it an understated elegance that comes alive upon closer examination. (Montego Black is not actually plain black- but has a very subtle, pearlescent / metallic quality when viewed up close and personally)

Like all Suhr Guitars, this one plays great! In fact, I dare say you’d be hard pressed to find anything that plays better. It’s also uber-comfortable thanks to an elegantly contoured body (tummy, arm and heel). Suhr Guitars builds some of the finest boutique electric guitars on the planet.
