Each Pro Series guitar is manufactured alongside the custom Suhr guitars in Lake Elsinore, CA using the finest materials, latest technology, skilled master craftsmen and stringent quality control.

The Suhr Modern Pro is designed to inspire- From the moment you pick it up, this boutique electric guitar comes alive in your hands. The scraped binding, crisp body contours and side input jack take this contemporary and ergonomic body shape to new levels of refinement and versatility. The stunning Flame Maple top is paired with a Basswood body for a rich, ringing tone while a proprietary finishing process provides an unparalleled combination of protection and beauty. Great care is taken to ensure that the thinnest possible finish is applied which allows the wood to resonate freely. State of the art equipment, experienced staff and uncompromising quality control ensures that no instrument leaves the Suhr facility until it meets their demanding standards.

The philosophy behind every Suhr guitar is that great instruments inspire great performances. Every detail of the Modern Pro was carefully considered to craft an instrument that lives up to this belief. The Modern shape is a high-performance take on the 24 fret design, offering the style and function along with a contemporary sound and feel. A sleek elliptical neck profile, balanced asymmetrical body, and innovative neck heel deliver unmatched playability and comfort.

Careful attention is also paid to the wood selection of the Modern Pro. Basswood, favored by blues and rock players for it’s smooth, fat and well-balanced tone produces a strong, clear and full-bodied sound. The Maple top and Neck add strength to the mid-range, excellent lows and a sweet, spanky top end sparkle. Pau Ferro is used for the fingerboard and has a percussive attack with excellent clarity, fat low-end, and a pronounced high-end sparkle. It is particularly well suited to high gain styles such as rock and metal.

Each Modern Pro is equipped with a Modern Elliptical neck profile. Rolled edges and a 10-14” compound fingerboard radius make it a very comfortable shape with excellent playability. Satin acrylic urethane is used for a finish that provides the smooth feel of natural wood as well as protection from moisture. Every Modern Pro also includes jumbo stainless steel frets for silky smooth bends and long-lasting playability and utilizes the “PLEK” fret dressing process to guarantee the best possible string action, optimized playability and incredible intonation.

The Modern Pro is available with your choice of H-H or H-S-H pickup configurations. In the bridge position you will find the JST SSH+ Humbucker – A high output pickup that produces a clear cutting top-end with excellent harmonics and a focused low end. Recommended for Rock and Classic Metal. In the neck position you will find the JST SSV Humbucker – A versatile pickup that combines the warmth of a vintage humbucker with increased clarity and definition. It is wound hotter for more output, increased sustain and a sweet midrange response. For HSH Modern Pro guitars, the JST ML Standard single coil pickup can be found in the middle position. This “Mike Landau” pickup is overwound for ​more output and sustain.

Gotoh 510 or Gotoh Floyd Rose locking tremolo systems are standard as well as Suhr staggered locking tuners. All for improved performance and tuning stability.
