Used! Just in on consignment! This stunning, Left-Handed 2010 model year SG Jr ’60s is a simple, no-nonsense electric guitar with tone to die for! The SG Junior has long been a favorite for everything from down-and-dirty rock and roll, to mean-street blues, to raw garage-punk. With a lightweight mahogany body and one roaring P-90 pickup, this guitar pulls no punches for pure tone. The SG Jr from Gibson USA looks great with its high gloss, Ebony Black nitrocellulose lacquer finish and tastefully upgraded Tortoise pickguard (by WD). Supreme playability, feather light weight and raw unfettered tone with a classic look! This Lefty SG Junior is a must have guitar!

Like the original SG Junior of 1961, this SG Jr ’60s from Gibson USA is made from choice solid Mahogany. An archetypal tonewood used in countless classic Gibson electric guitars, Mahogany has a sonic depth and richness that can’t be beat, yet always remains clear and articulate. The guitar’s neck also is made from solid Mahogany cut to the superior quarter-sawn orientation, carved to the fast yet comfortable Slim Taper profile of the early ’60s, and glued into the body with the time-tested mortise & tenon joint that promotes resonance and sustain. It carries a sturdy fingerboard with 22 medium-jumbo frets (PLEK’d for incredibly playability) and a 12-inch radius for easy, choke-free bending. A PLEK-cut Corian nut ensures precise intonation while enhancing sustain, which is further aided by Gibson’s traditional 17-degree back-angled headstock, silkscreened with the gold Gibson logo, just like the originals.

The heart of a Junior always has been found in its hot, raw P-90 pickup, and the SG Junior ’60s is no exception. This accurate reproduction of Gibson’s favorite single-coil pickup is wound with 42-AWG wire and employs a pair of genuine Alnico V bar magnets for a sound as smooth as it is snarly, with characteristic P-90 edge and bite to cut through any mix. Hardware includes a wraparound tailpiece and vintage-style TonePros tuners to retain the retro look up at the headstock.

Like all our used / vintage gear this has guitar has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get – except for the original Gibson gig bag which IS INCLUDED but not pictured. Exceptional condition without any significant issues, repairs or damage. Maybe a scuff or superficial mark if you look with a magnifying glass, but honestly nothing noticeable. I’d rather under promise and over deliver though, so I will not call this “as new”. The tortoise pickguard is aftermarket from WD and there are also strap locks installed.
