Used! Just in on consignment! This custom Elmer guitar is a blast to play! Not only is it adorable, but the short, 23.5” scale makes for a really fun and easy playing experience. The hand-made pickups sound fantastic – The are EVO 3 models which are custom wound AlNiCo surface mount singles. The bridge is a blade and neck pickup is pole piece version. In fact all the components including the killer pickup covers and bridge/tailpiece are handmade. It has a chambered body constructed from Poplar with a Douglas Fir top, and a 3-piece Maple neck with AAA grade Wenge fingerboard. The combination of these woods very much complement each other tonally and the sound can shift from jazz, blues and all points beyond with no problem.

This special order guitar was requested with a Gold Top finish, so it was given the name “Wonka Bar”. What’s so special about the Wonka Bar you ask? While there were lots and lots of these chocolate bars produced in Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory, very few had a golden ticket hidden inside. This guitar is one of a kind, so also very rare, just like a Golden Ticket! In addition to the finish, the Elmer Wonka Bar has taken a few other cues from the story too – Note the purple top hat. This is a nod to Mr. Wonka himself. A pair of custom knobs are made to look like “milk chocolate”, and a cool ID badge custom milled with the retro Wonka Bar logo and series number.

Cowbrand Design is the Graphic Arts and Lutherie duo of Michael and Naomi. Each of their compositions/guitars is an individual design and build experience. There is no list of models or body designs to choose from other then their basic template. With the exception of the hand-wound pickups, body shape and headstock shape, each composition becomes a very individual project as interpreted through their compositional eye. They care about the environment and use responsibly sourced and reclaimed timbers such as Douglas Fir, Maple, Pine, Oak and Cherry in the construction of their instruments. All primary build woods are a minimum of 60 years old and always hand selected. This particular instrument is just in on consignment from one of our regular clients.
