USED! Just in on consignment! The Z 28 from Dr Z Amps is a 6V6 based tube guitar combo amplifier using the same EF86 preamp circuit used in the Route 66, M12, and KT45 amplifiers. This matching of the EF-86 front end with a pair of fixed bias 6V6 power tubes yields an authority not heard before from a dual 6V6 design. The sweet sparkle of the 6V6 is more of an American sound that some have described as “Brown Tolexed Deluxe”. Rated at approximately 22 watts, the Z-28 fits under the Route 66 in terms of wattage, and it can easily generate smooth, full distortion at a very useable volume level. Dial in a clear, sweet cleans as well as biting crunch with just 3 knobs. Like other 3 knob Dr Z amps, the unique Bass, and Treble controls function normally until 12:00 and add gain once turned past noon. A stout, tube rectified power supply gives the Z28 a tight low end and makes it very pedal friendly as well. You won’t find the typical short comings of dual 6V6 amps here. The Z-28 is rated at approximately 22 watts and an ideal choice for most gig / studio situations.
This amp was purchased from us originally. Like all our used / vintage gear it has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get. Includes custom embroidered padded soft cover with back zipper pocket.
