The Vintage Fender Strat- REDEFINED! This 69 Stratocaster NOS is based on our Master Vintage Players Series (MVP) Limited Edition run, built exclusively for Make’n Music in the Fender Custom Shop!!! These special instruments are custom designed to offer the Ultimate in Tone, Playability and Feel. Each guitar is hand-made to our specs in order to give the vibe and look of an actual vintage instrument, but with all the conveniences of a true modern player’s piece.
This particular guitar is based on the Fender Custom Shop 1969 Stratocaster, but built with modified specs to give it more vibe. It has a very special, New Old Stock (NOS) finish package to provide the ultimate tone and feel! A thin, hard, nitrocellulose lacquer on the body gives these instruments a rich, elegant look while the gunstock oil finish on the neck provides a silky smooth feel- all while allowing the wood to breathe and age gracefully. Another nifty feature is the S-1 switch hidden discretely in the center of the volume knob. When activated this puts the neck / bridge pickup combination at your fingertips for all those Jimmy Page / Ritchie Blackmore type tones. Even a bit of Tele tone flavor. Of course all the classic Stratocaster tones you know and love are still there too- Right where they should be. These guitars are spec’d with the Custom Shop ’69 pickups in the neck and middle position for that “Wind Cries Mary” Sparkle and Chime, but the bridge position gets a Custom Shop Fat 50’s pickup for a slightly ballsier, beefier tone.
The Fender Custom Shop Master Vintage Player Series Strats and Teles may look and feel like actual vintage guitars, but they play like a dream. This guitar has an incredible feeling neck- The ’69 small U profile feels like the best comfy “C” shape you have ever felt. Easier chording, faster leads and no fretting out when you go for the big bends thanks to the 1&11/16″ nut width, flatter 9.5″ fingerboard radius and 6105 fret wire. Adjustments are a breeze too! The Bullet Truss Rod is accessible from the headstock, so you no longer have to remove the neck for a tweak. The neck uses a vintage-style 4-bolt pocket for the best tone and stability.
