Original-style design with padded gig bag carrying case and two additional Tap Cartridges included! The Fulltone Tube Tape Echo is a real deal, authentic, tube powered tape echo unit with 12AX7 and 12AU7 tubes that provide rich, shimmering tone. It uses a compact DC motor to run its Fulltone ETC-1 tape cartridge for quiet operation that’s designed for longevity. This is a heavy duty, well-engineered machine that refines many of the issues those fragile, old, vintage Echoplex tape delays were known for. The TTE uses a hand wired audio path, and has three stereo modes for truly dimensional tone. Thanks to Mike Fuller and his Fulltone Custom Shop Tube Tape Echo, we can now hear the magic of true tape echo the way it was intended.
Fulltone Custom Shop TTE – A quiet, reliable Echoplex
No digital or analog guitar effects pedal can truly replicate the warm, natural tone of a vintage Echoplex tape echo. Traditionally, that shimmering, tube tone often came at a price. Those old Tape Echo units were often noisy and unreliable. Enter the Fulltone Custom Shop Tube Tape Echo – This thing has been engineered, re-engineered and over-engineered to eliminate any of those classic issues! It’s the perfect choice for any or studio application. Have no fear!
Delay time, Tone and Construction
The Tube Tape Echo provides Delay effects ranging from a quick slapback to over two seconds of long delay. A switch mounted on the top panel selects between Hi-Speed and Lo-Speed operation. Hi-Speed gives more highs, less bass, and a True Repeat without the pitch variation of the old Echoplex. Lo-Speed is warmer, with lots of bass, less high end, and a slight “warble” that imparts a natural chorus effect made popular by artists such as Eric Johnson.
The TTE uses REAL tubes (12AX7’s in the Record and Playback functions plus a 12AU7 in the Erase/Bias section), not to mention a hand wired audio path for the best possible sound. It just sounds better that way, and you’ll notice the difference immediately. Also, gone are the big, noisy AC motors of yesteryear- The TTE uses a compact and reliable servo-controlled high-torque DC motor. Along with proprietary tape heads for stellar sound quality, a Fulltone ETC-1 tape cartridge, and a selection of three Stereo Out modes. The Fulltone TTE is the ultimate Tube Tape Echo unit!
