This Gibson Historic 1959 Les Paul Reissue is just in on trade and priced to move! The guitar itself started out as a stock, 1999 Gibson Custom / Historic 1959 Les Paul Reissue. It was professionally modified at the behest of a gigging musican to be a true workhorse guitar with an Evertune bridge system- which if you are unfamiliar with it like I was- you need to google it and read up. It’s very interesting- Once you set it up properly it keeps your guitar in tune pretty much no matter what. No matter how hard you strum, or if you loosen the tuners, it will always be in tune! You can tweak it to be more or less senstitive- At the extreme you can actually bend strings and not hear the notes change pitch, or you can get it dialed in just right so that you can still bend, but literally go months without having to tune your guitar. It’s all mechanical too- not some digital, robotic tuning system.

Additionally, the guitar has an EVH bridge pickup installed, as well as Sperzel locking tuners. It has been played on over 1000 gigs and has the battle scars to prove it- The finish is naturally worn and aged with plenty of juicy dings and dents as well. This thing looks like some $50,000 replica of Peter Henrix’ or Jimmy Green’s vintage Les Paul except that the wear and tear is actually earned and and real. There are no breaks or structural issues- just the modifications and cosmetic finish wear. The frets are new and nicely crowned. Looks like a new Bone nut as well. Some finish work was done to the top only when the bridge system was installed- The holes where the original bridge would have been have been touched up nicely. It looks good and this flame top is absolutely killer! Nicely accentuated by the deep, orangey sunburst finish.
