No significant issues, wear, etc… It was never gigged regularly and always kept covered so it’s in great shape. Maybe a scuff or two, but that’s about it. Like all our used / vintage gear this Matchless Amplifiers DC-30 Reverb 2×12 combo has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get.

This has to be the grand-daddy of all boutique amps! The Matchless DC-30 combo is the original Matchless design and still leads the lineup. This flagship Matchless amp produces 30 watts of power from a quartet of EL-84’s and has two uniquely voiced channels (one with an EF-86 and one with a 12AX7 preamp). This particular version is the latest with optional Tube Driven Reverb and foot-switchable channel selection. True ”Class A” construction provides for rich, complex harmonics and world class tone, whether you are playing Clean, Dirty, or All Out with full power tube saturation. This is what changed the world of boutique tube guitar amps- and gear in general . Without Matchless there may not be a “boutique” marketplace like we know it today.

A long list of standard features were included with the musician in mind. The two channels each feature unique circuit designs and highly interactive tone controls for maximum versatility. They are now foot- switchable as well. High / Low inputs along with a defeat-able / bypass-able Master Volume control (push/pull) and a “high treble” Cut control make dialing in the perfect tone a breeze at any volume- whether you are using humbuckers or single coil pickups, playing a large arena or a small club gig, or aiming for studio perfection. Additional features include an effects loop, cut control for high frequency shaping, high and low (30 or 15 watt) power settings, selectable output impedance and phase inverter switches allow the use of additional speaker cabinets or amps in-phase with the DC-30.

Each channel has a unique preamp section with a different tube compliment for versatility. Channel 1 uses a pair of 12AX7 tubes while one EF86 provides the chimey British gain of Channel 2. The two 12AX7’s in Channel 1 create a parallel-triode circuit with interactive bass and treble. The one EF86 in Channel 2 consists of a high-gain pentode coupled to a six-position tone switch.  The power amp is fed by a 12AX7 phase inverter, which drives four EL84 power tubes. The rectifier circuit is also flexible- Use one 5AR4 for a quick attack or a pair of 5V4’s for a smoother, rounder response. Other professional features include an effects loop, half power-mode switch (a conservative 30 watts switching to 15 watts), output impedance selector (4, 8, 16 ohms) and a speaker phase-reverse switch.

The DC-30 Reverb 2×12 combo delivers your tone through two dissimilar Celestion speakers:  a G12H30 and a Greenback G12M 25, each specially modified through a proprietary MATCHLESS formula.  All of this is encased in an extremely sturdy hand-made 11-ply, 3/4” Baltic birch cabinet, wrapped in richly textured black vinyl tolex.  A signature backlit Matchless nameplate and control panel lets you (and the audience) know when the power is on.
