Used! Just in on consignment! The Top Hat Supreme 16 is an outstanding tube guitar amplifier that really strives to reach tonal Nirvana. If you are familiar with other Top Hat models, this is basically a Club Royale – which has been rated the best in the 2x EL-84 class of amps – with an additional, EF86 based channel for more of that Vox AC15 / British-style chime and overdrive. The EF-86 channel is simple and elegant with a single Volume knob and a 2-way Fat/ Bright switch. The second channel has the same full EQ and Master Volume preamp design as the Club Royale with a 3-position Fat / Off / Bright switch. A “Cut” knob resides on the back panel. This works on both channels.
For lively and transparent tone, the Supreme 16 is built with an Aluminum chassis. Part of the magic and breath quality of this amp comes from the use of the EZ81 rectifier tube. This is the original rectifier used in those classic vintage 18-watt Marshall’s and the Vox AC15. This tube has only recently been put back into production and is necessary to feed a 2x EL-84 amp the right amount of current. Another key ingredient to the tone and feel is the far less common use of a large choke. Simply put, this coil affects the way the amp compresses and breathes. Very friendly on the hands and ears. It also matches well with the Aluminum chassis and the papery clarity of the Celestion Blue Alnico speaker.
The head and speaker cabinets are finger-joined 15mm Baltic Birch plywood, covered in two-tone vinyl with an Art Deco inlaid piping design surrounding the round, lit up logo.
Like all our used / vintage gear this amplifier has been tested for functionality and priced to move. It sounds fantastic and it’s ready to go! No serious issues, damage or repairs. A few small scuffs, dust and discolorations and an inch or so of loose piping, but it’s anchored at both ends. Other than that the condition is solid. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get including the Tuki padded head cover.

Our policy lasts for 30 days. We cannot exchange or refund your order after 30 days since you purchased it.
Your item must be in its original packaging and not be used. It must also be returned in the original packaging.
