Gibson ES-330 TDC “John Watkins”
Customized / Modified Players Piece
Circa 1970 – 1972 Vintage / Used Electric Guitar
Used! Just in on consignment. This “Pawn Shop Special” is super cool! A real player’s piece!!! Formerly owned by a local Chicago Blues musician named “John Watkins” who had the guitar modified with a Ebony fingerboard, custom emblazoned with his name in Mother of Pearl. A pair of humbucking pickups have also been installed as well as a set of Schaller tuners. The serial number dates this guitar to the 1970 – 1972 era, and the knobs and other features seem to support this.
The guitar is a workhorse, a real players piece. It has not been babied and it shows signs of use such as lacquer checking, dings, dents, wear, etc… Frets are worn. Could probably use a refret, but there could be another level and crown left. Back of neck appears to have been oversprayed, but years ago, as it has checked nicely to match the rest of the guitar. The hard case is included. I am not sure it is an original Gibson case but it is a vintage Victoria Luggage Co. model that looks to be from the same era.
Like all our used/vintage gear it has been tested for functionality and priced to move. Sold as-is. What you see is what you get.
