The Custom Shop CS24MF is an elegantly styled electric guitar with all the hallmarks of a vintage Zemaitis Metal Front! This truly special Zemaitis Guitar is a 1-off Custom Metal Front from the NAMM Show that features unique metal top and back plates, hand-engraved by Zemaitis Master Engraver Danny Obrien and his Japanese protégé! The engraving features the classic the Leaf Scroll motif – An iconic vintage Zemaitis design. An engraved pearl leaf inlay on the body is also custom and unique to this instrument. While Danny designs the engravings for many of the new Zemaitis guitars, having one available that has been personally worked on by him is incredibly rare.

While not exactly cheap, this stunningly beautiful Zemaitis Custom Shop Metal Front is exquisitely appointed and constructed with the utmost attention to quality and craftsmanship. All the appointments are perfectly detailed – Impeccable fretwork, a hand cut bone nut, thin satin black lacquer finish – And of course the engraved Metal Top, Tailpiece, Truss Rod cover, pickup rings, back plates, jack plate and Z Logo. Even the bridge is engraved on this one! You never see that!!! This is truly a Custom Deluxe Zemaitis guitar. You hardly ever see vintage Zemaitis guitars with this much “bling” and when you do they are 10 times the price of this. The body and neck are carved from Mahogany and the fingerboard is Ebony. The custom Zemaitis bridge and tailpiece are not only great looking, but highly functional, adding tone and sustain! The build quality, fit and finish, fret work, and fine attention to detail are all exceptional.

Tony Zemaitis was always experimenting. He made guitars for iconic players like Ron Wood and Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Rich Robinson, The Faces and many, many more. His unique guitars featured a wide variety of finishes, pearl inlays, body styles and construction techniques. The Superior Series instruments showcase some of Tony’s most beautiful creations.
